The British fighter explained his struggles.

Tommy Fury explained why he was unable to stop KSI in Manchester on Saturday night.

The boxer had suggested in the build-up to the huge clash that he would not let the bout go the distance, but ultimately he was only able to squeeze by on a majority decision after six rounds.

Fury was punished early on for striking KSI on the back of the head, but his YouTuber opponent was no more able to end things.

KSI was outraged by the decision going against him, and speaking after the fight, Fury gave a reason why he was not at his best.

He said: “I couldn’t use my right hand for six weeks, I’m not an excuse-maker, I couldn’t use my hand for six weeks.”

There was little comparison between Fury and his older brother, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, and he looked at his own efforts in isolation.

He added: “I fought my heart out in there, and that’s all I can do. I said there will never be another Tyson Fury and I’m just trying to be the best Tommy Fury I can be."

Of KSI, he said: “He’s an awkward man, I’ll give him that. I got my victory and I’m 10 and 0. He goes his way and I go mine. I’m done with this crossover s***.”
