Tommy Fury says Jake Paul and KSI can only be considered boxers when they finally share a ring with him.
Fury returns to the ring on November 13th when he faces Paul Bamba on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition with Deji. If successful, the focus is likely to switch to a Fury vs. Jake Paul contest in 2023.
The pair have seen two fights fall through already, but it’s hoped that a meeting can finally take place next year.
Fury withdrew injured at the backend of 2021 and when the rescheduled meeting was confirmed for earlier this year, Fury encountered difficulties entering America. Despite the disturbances, Fury still has plenty to say on the feud.
“I don’t need to call out Jake Paul for this fight,” said Fury when appearing on The MMA Hour. “Everyone wants to see this fight because if Jake Paul and KSI didn’t have to fight me, they wouldn’t.
“They have to fight me to prove that they are a legitimate boxer. They have to. There is nobody else with my following and my exposure with eight fights in. There’s nobody.
“So if they want to be regarded as a boxer, they have to go through me. This fight between me and Jake does not need selling."
