Tony Bellew has given credit to the mental strength possessed by Francis Ngannou as he gets ready to step into the ring with Anthony Joshua.
The former UFC superstar will have his second professional boxing bout next month when he faces the former two-time world champion in an eagerly anticipated bout.
Last October, Ngannou dropped Tyson Fury before narrowly losing on points and now he has another opportunity to cause a significant dent in the heavyweight division.
Bellew is insistent that Joshua will get the job done against Ngannou, but he’s identified one of area of the Frenchman’s makeup that has impressed him.
“His strongest attribute is his mental capacity and his mental strength. Not his boxing ability or skills,” said Bellew when speaking to IFLTV.
“Joshua can box him all day. He’s a far better boxer and far superior. You just got to take away his will and take away his mental strength. If you keep making someone miss and picking up on their technical flaws because he has them, he has many of them.”
