Former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew has given a surprise reaction to this past weekend's fight between KSI and Tommy Fury.
In what was the biggest event in crossover boxing history, KSI and Fury went head-to-head at a packed out AO Arena in Manchester with Fury being declared the winner on the judges' scorecards.
It's no secret that a large number of traditional boxing fans are critical towards this sphere, but there is no doubt that these crossover names are bringing new eyeballs to the sport.
But while Bellew praised the effect the likes of KSI are having on grassroots boxing, he is concerned about what would happen if a crossover fighter came up against a top-level professional boxer.
"I went to a boxing gym last night to speak to the kids and there was over 200 kids in this gym," Bellew told talkSPORT.
“I’m not gonna lie, that is partly because of the likes of KSI, I’m telling you now – they’re encouraging so many kids from a different background than where I’m from into a boxing gym.
“So I don’t see anything wrong with it. I only worry that someone will get hurt if a professional boxer does get their hands on one of these guys.
“But I give them all the credit in the world.”
