Anthony Joshua’s next move is still unknown, but the entire boxing world is waiting to see what the British heavyweight does next.
Joshua has been linked to a contest with longtime rival Deontay Wilder in recent weeks, but with that fight unlikely to take place until next year, could Joshua fight again in 2023?
Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, has spoken about the possibilty of his man competing for a third time this year in December following wins over Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius.
Such an outing would keep Joshua active, and Tony Bellew has identified one fighter who could face Joshua next.
“I would look more towards a gatekeeper. Michael Hunter? He beat Martin Bakole,” said Bellew when speaking to Ade Oladipo.
“That’s a difficult one though, he is a problem. I know you’re going to say that he is a cruiserweight, but he is a problem. He’s been a sparring partner of AJ’s quite recently, as well.”
