Bellew enjoyed a great career.

Tony Bellew had a reputation for being a big puncher, but the Liverpool man also faced his share of hard hitters during his illustrious career.

A cruiserweight world champion who faced some of boxing’s most dangerous names, Bellew has spoken about which fighter had the heaviest hands.

Despite being dropped by the likes of Ovill McKenzie, Adonis Stevenson, and Oleksandr Usyk, Bellew credits another fighter as being the hardest puncher he faced.

During two memorable battles with David Haye, ‘Bomber’ felt what the London fighter had, and it’s the former heavyweight champion who gets the nod from Bellew when discussing the subject.

“Haye was the one who had the most power. I’m certain on that,” said Bellew when speaking exclusively to DAZN

“Stevenson hit me hard, but I was in there that night without much resistance because of the weight struggles. He could certainly punch.

“I knew Haye’s power was going to be a problem from when I sparred him, and he really could bang. There’ll be many fighters who fought Haye who’ll tell you all about how much power he had.”
