There could be huge fight on the cards later this year.

Trainer Calvin Ford believes that the winner of Tim Tiszyu vs. Keith Thurman could have a chance of fighting welterweight champion Terence Crawford.

‘Bud’ is regarded as perhaps the finest fighter of any weight right now after dismantling Errol Spence Jr. last summer.

He is currently the unified welterweight champion after vacating the IBF strap, and is yet to agree to a return to the ring, with some suggestions a Spence rematch would come at 154lbs.

Meanwhile, Thurman and Tszyu headline a March 30 card (shown live on Amazon in the US), at a weight of 155lbs, meaning they could be in line for a clash with Crawford, according to Ford.

“Like I said, the winner of this fight may have a chance to fight Terence Crawford,” he told BoxingScene.com. “That is motivation right there.

“Thurman’s got options if he pulls this one off. Both of them have something to prove.”

He continued: “This is going to be [an interesting fight]. Tim Tszyu has been doing his thing, man. I am looking forward to that night, and seeing what is going to happen.”
