Tyson Fury appeared to confirm that he would fight fellow heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua this July.
During a call with Mexican fighting legend Julio Cesar Chavez, the pair discussed his upcoming fight with the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO champion, which is set for this summer in Saudi Arabia.
The British heavyweight duo have agreed financial terms for a two-fight deal and have reportedly signed a contract for the deal. However, a site venue and fight date must be confirmed to put any doubts to rest. The fight could be worth £100 million to each fighter.
Matchroom and Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn announced that dates July 24, 31 and August 7 are the three under consideration for the first bout, with a second event set for later in the year. If the vaccine programme continues to succeed in the UK then it will likely host the return fight, with Bob Arum also confiming details.
Chavez asked Fury on Fight Hub TV if he was in training for a fight, two which the WBC champion answered: "Yes, in July."
