The WBC title will be up for grabs in two months.

Tyson Fury will fight Dillian Whyte on April 23 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

Whyte left it late to confirm his participation after putting pen to paper on his contract after staying largely silent in recent weeks negotiations for the bout..

Whyte is the WBC mandatory challenger for Fury, and last fought Alexander Povetkin in early 2021 to win back his interim championship. A shoulder injury has kept him out of any other fight and he now goes straight into the title fight in two months.

Fury had originally planned to fight Anthony Joshua to decide the undisputed heavyweight champion but was instead forced into his trilogy match with Deontay Wilder in October, which he won impressively.

Joshua instead took on Oleksandr Usyk, with the Ukrainian emerging with the IBF, WBA and WBO belts, and they are set to fight in May or June in their rematch.

That could tee up the chance for the respective winners of Fury vs. Whyte and Usyk vs. Joshua to finally settle the undisputed question.
