Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte: List of odds, favorites, markets, prediction and betting trendsDAZN

On Saturday, Tyson Fury puts his WBC and lineal heavyweight titles on the line as he takes on WBC interim titlist Dillian Whyte from Wembley Stadium in London, England.

As always, there are plenty of bets to be made with a big-time boxing card. Let's take a look at some of them.

Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte odds

Tyson Fury: -600
Dillian Whyte: +400

(All odds via BetMGM)

BetMGM (as of Thursday, April 21) has Fury installed as a massive favorite — coming in at -600, meaning you'd need to bet a whopping $600 just to win $100. Meanwhile, Whyte is a live underdog at +400, meaning if you pluck down $100, you will win $400 if the Brit can score the upset and walk out of London with the gold.

Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) last fought in October, knocking out Deontay Wilder in the 11th round in one of the best heavyweight title fights in boxing history to complete their trilogy with him going 2-0-1 over the "Bronze Bomber." Now, he shifts his focus to his fellow compatriot.

Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs) is the current interim WBC titlist. He'd lost the belt to Alexander Povetkin via fifth-round stoppage in August 2020 to snap his 11-fight winning streak. "The Body Snatcher" came back in a violent way, brutally stopping Povetkin with a fourth-round stoppage in their rematch last March. Whyte now gets his long-coveted world title shot.

Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte prediction

Every time I think about this fight, Fury against Wladimir Klitschko cannot escape my mind. It feels very similar to what is highly likely to happen this weekend. But, of course, people will read this and wonder why it won't be like the three classic bouts Fury had with Deontay Wilder.

Fury knew Wilder was a one-trick pony who had only one way to win and knew the American possessed an average chin and was susceptible to getting knocked out. While Whyte won't be thought of as having the boxing acumen of Floyd Mayweather Jr., he brings more tools to the game than Wilder. The 34-year-old has a solid jab, better footwork than many think, and power in both hands led by his devastating left hook.

That left hook has brought him wins over Alexander Povetkin, Joseph Parker, Derek Chisora (x2), and Robert Helenius. But he's going to need it one more time against arguably the best heavyweight in the world.

Fury can win by doing what he did with Klitschko, which was pop the jab, use his excellent footwork and throw an occasional right hand to keep Klitschko honest.

I fully expect Fury to implement the same plan of attack. There is no reason to put himself in any potential danger when he can box circles around his fellow Englishman.

Don't bet on Fury winning the fight because there's no value even with a parlay. Instead, Whyte at +400 is a pretty good play and can lay down a sizable wager as anything can happen in boxing.

But to me, the smartest play to make is the fight going the distance, with Fury getting his hand raised and retaining his belts.
