Former world champion Amir Khan has made his prediction for the upcoming crossover fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou.
The two will meet in Saudi Arabia on October 28 in a contest which will be live on DAZN PPV in a number of regions and is being billed as one of the biggest events of the year in combat sports.
One intriguing aspect of this fight is whether Ngannou's immense striking in MMA will translate over to boxing, and Khan believes that this could give the former UFC heavyweight champion a chance against Fury.
"His size, if Fury leaves himself open - he leaves himself open a lot - he might get caught with a looping right-hander. With MMA fighters they’re going to throw punches from all different angles," Khan told TNT Sports.
“Ngannou is going to jump at this opportunity because he’s fighting the world heavyweight champion in Fury."
However, while Khan thinks Ngannou has a slight chance of producing the upset, he is still backing Fury to have his hand raised due to his superior boxing ability against someone who is making their professional boxing debut.
“But realistically, Fury is going to win because he’s going to win because he’s the boxer, but Ngannou has got the puncher’s chance in this fight," Khan concluded.
