Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou: Errol Spence Jr. endorses key clauseDAZN

Errol Spence Jr. welcomed news of Tyson Fury’s rematch clause with Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou confirmed there is a rematch clause if the former UFC heavyweight champion defeats Fury in their October 28 matchup.

There is no title on the line for the fight, which has attracted a lot of interest for sheer novelty, but might not be the event that many had wanted from Fury this year.

He had previously been in negotiations for an undisputed fight with Ukrainian unified champion Oleksandr Usyk, and also circled a potential clash with old rival Anthony Joshua, but ultimately elected for Ngannou, and will not put his title on the line.

Fury is the clear favourite and any win for Ngannou would be a huge shock, despite his undeniable punching power.

That power might be why Fury inserted a rematch clause, to ensure that any freak defeat could be, in theory, swiftly avenged.

While many in boxing and fans of the sport are skeptical of the fight, Spence gave his support on Twitter, writing: “I’m not mad at all Get your money my guy”.
