Roy Jones Jr is backing Tyson Fury this weekend, but he does admit that Fury’s last showing has made it a harder pick to make.
Fury and Oleksandr Usyk clash on Saturday, live on DAZN PPV, and the fight is set to be a major event where the winner will be undisputed heavyweight champion.
Last October, Fury failed to impress when he was dropped by Francis Ngannou before winning a close split decision.
That performance has caused many within the boxing industry to doubt Fury ahead of his bout with Usyk, but Jones Jr believes he can win.
"My prediction before that fight was that Tyson Fury would win but it’s going to be a lot tougher now because of the fact of the last fight,” said the former world champion when speaking to Betway.
“Tyson Fury knew Francis Ngannou was a type of guy he wasn’t supposed to struggle with, but I have to go with Tyson Fury.
“You’ve got to back history, he will rank pretty high because nobody has beaten Oleksandr Usyk yet and if he does, he is going to be remembered highly.”
