Eddie Hearn believes that he has convinced Tyson Fury that the fight with Anthony Joshua will go ahead.
Speaking to the DAZN Boxing Show, Hearn said that he had met with the WBC champion while he was in the United States.
Fury is in America to train in anticipation of a fight with Joshua - though his father believes that he will have to commit to any fight soon in order to stay sharp - and the pair of them met at Hearn’s suggestion.
“I was just reaching out with everyone in Vegas, just had as many meetings as I could. I went up to his rather nice hotel suite and we had a good ten minutes.
“It was good. It was nice to hear it from the horse’s mouth.”
The Matchroom promoter explained that Fury seemed confident in the fight going ahead after perhaps having reservations.
“I think ultimately he’s happy with the position we’re in.
“Everyone’s now accepted the offer from the site. We know where we’re going. We’re tying up paperwork on that site deal.
“He’s comfortable now, because he was maybe a bit of a non-believer that I was going to get this over the line or we were going to get the opportunity to get this deal.
“We’ve still got to get a move on, but I think he feels like the fight is on. I think he will want the fight and it’s the only fight he’ll want.”
