Christian Mbilli has provided the biggest clue that he’s ready for a showdown with super-middleweight world champion, Canelo Alvarez.
The unbeaten Frenchman maintained his perfect record with a win over former world title challenger, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, and he now claims he’s ready for the best fighters in his weight class.
Victory over the previous rival of Gennadiy Golovkin and Daniel Jacobs will elevate Mbilli in the rankings, and he’s eager to climb higher.
Canelo defends his world belts against Edgar Berlanga next month, live on DAZN, and it appears that he’s an opponent that Mbilli is targeting.
“I’m ready for big fights. I want to be a world champion. I know that to be the best, I have to beat the best,” said Mbilli following his win over Derevyanchenko.
“I don’t want to say any names, but everybody knows who’s number one. I want the fight with the number one.”
