They have history ahead of their fight this weekend.

Undefeated Vergil Ortiz Jr. challenges WBC interim super welterweight world champion Serhii Bohachuk this weekend, live on DAZN, but the two are far from strangers.

During a recent episode of CampHouse on Golden Boy's YouTube page, both men peeled back the curtain on their sparring sessions of the past.

"I've gone around 50 rounds with him," Ortiz revealed. "I used to train with him. He actually got me ready for the 'Mean Machine' (Egidijus Kavaliauskas) fight."

Those sparring sessions paid off well as Ortiz produced an eighth-round TKO of Kavaliauskas in that August 2021 fight.

"So I'm very familiar with him," added Ortiz regarding his history with Bohachuk. "He's very relentless. He does not stop throwing punches. Some people don't know how to deal with that."

Bohachuk (24-1, 23 KOs) is excited about clashing with Ortiz with higher stakes.

"I want to fight with the best boxers," Bohachuk said. "Vergil, I think he's best boxer. He has great record — 21 [fights], 21 KOs."

He added: "I know Vergil and Vergil knows me, too. I'm sure he will be ready for this fight 100 percent. I need to be ready for this fight 101 percent.

"He's good and I'm better. I'm world champion, not him."
