Wayne Bridge believes that KSI's barbed comments about John Terry during their face-off in the ring on Saturday are part of a "pantomime" the star must do to sell his fights.
The former Chelsea and England footballer will turn to the gloves for a boxing clash with the social media star-turned-entrepreneur and Misfits mastermind this coming March.
The two squared off at MF & DAZN: X Series 20 in Manchester, with KSI goading his latest foe over Terry, who was long rumoured to have had an affair with Bridge's ex-wife.
Speaking in the aftermath however, the latter suggested that his opponent only feels comfortable to make such claims in front of an audience as he can dictate the narrative.
"I know if we were in a ring on our own, he wouldn't do it," he told The Stomping Ground. "He'll do it in front of cameras, and he knows what will happen. There's people there.
"He wouldn't do it on his own. I'd describe it as a bit of a pantomime, WWF-[type] thing. Some people like to see it, some don't. It's not in my nature, to be honest. But it is what it is.
For the fight to happen, that's what had to happen. I got in there, now I'm out and I'm ready to get training and get in the ring. I've always been interested in having boxing matches.
But every time it's come up, it's either not been the right time or the right opponent. I'm forty-four years old. I always tell my kids to step out of their comfort zone, so let's have a go.
"I haven't watched loads of him. I've seen a few clips away from the fights. I know he's a YouTuber, but that's more for the younger generation. I won't watch him."
