One of boxing's top stars returns to the ring for the second time in 2019 on Saturday as former unified middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin battles Sergiy Derevyanchenko for the vacant IBF middleweight championship at Madison Square Garden in New York City, live on DAZN.
The bout marks Golovkin's second fight on DAZN after he signed a six-fight deal in March. In his debut, Golovkin (39-1-1, 35 KOs) returned after suffering the first loss of his career to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in September 2018 to notch a fourth-round knockout over Steve Rolls.
Now, in his fight against Derevyanchenko, Golovkin gets a chance to become a two-time world champion at 160 pounds.
Derevyanchenko (13-1, 10 KOs) looks to win his first major world title. The 33-year-old competes for the IBF strap for the second time. In October 2018, the Ukrainian came up just short, losing a split-decision to Daniel Jacobs. He rebounded in April with a unanimous-decision victory over Jack Culcay.
