The fact that a fight like Errol Spence vs. Terence Crawford for the undisputed welterweight crown is in danger of falling by the wayside is not something that Matchroom's Eddie Hearn is conflicted about because there are still several fights that could steal the spotlight in 2023.

One of those potential matchups is between former heavyweight world champions Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder.

"Spence vs. Crawford (apparently) not happening is sad, but boxing still has a lot. A fight like that for Joshua might be the biggest fight in boxing right now. It could be a big fight is so exciting for the heavyweights and I think we'll see it in 2023," Hearn said in an interview with DAZN

There is also the clash between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta 'Tank' Davis, one which Hearn believes will generate an incredible atmosphere.

"Ryan Garcia is a massive fight. To me it's one of the best that could happen. Because their fan base is so different from each other they would make a fantastic evening. Gervonta with the more conservative fans and the new fans that Ryan Garcia has would make a fantastic atmosphere," he added.

There is also the undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney who Hearn believes will have another big year in 2023.

"At 135 there are great fights. Devin Haney is criticized for being boring, but he's brilliant. He's smart, you can't beat him, you'll need someone very special to beat him.

"I don't think Shakur Stevenson, Tank Davis or Ryan Garcia, can beat him...however, I think it's only a matter of time before he moves up to 140 pounds.

"But he will have to think about it, even though the weight is already something that haunts him, as everyone will say he ran from Lomachenko. Haney can stay and fight that fight that is 50-50."
