Will Oleksandr Usyk face Tyson Fury next month? The verdict from Usyk's team on potential undisputed battleMatchroom

Any chance of an undisputed heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk taking place next month appears to be slim.

That’s the verdict of Alexander Krassyuk, the manager of Usyk who is desperate to secure his man a shot against Fury.

Since defeating Anthony Joshua in back-to-back fights, Usyk has been determined to meet Fury in his quest to be crowned the world’s best heavyweight.

Negotiations between the two camps have stretched into the familiar percentage split territory, and with Fury demanding more of the split, it appears that talks could be at a standstill.

With this process continuing and neither fighter prepared to budge on their original demands, Krassyuk is not confident that the fight takes place on the initial planned date of April 29.

“We were expecting the fight to take place in Saudi in March, late February. It didn’t take place, so it was rescheduled for April 29,” said Krassyuk when speaking to iD Boxing.

“It doesn’t look likely that we [are] gonna have a fight on April 29th, that’s my anticipation. The term is too short. Did you see any post of Tyson and his team somewhere on social media, training, doing their jobs?

"I think they’re not in training camp, which means they took the decision not to fight, which is why we don’t need to think really positively. We have to be realistic.”
