Three days. That is all we have to wait until Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk collide, live on DAZN, for a second time with heavyweight glory up for grabs.

Here, DAZN News, as part of our big fight countdown, looks at Fury’s trilogies and what he must do to ensure he gets a third fight with Usyk.

Heavyweight boxing has been littered with memorable trilogies.

Muhammad Ali enjoyed bitter rivalries with Joe Frazier and Ken Norton whilst Evander Holyfield and Riddick Bowe went to battle three times in the joyous 1990s.

Tyson Fury, as student of heavyweight boxing, is also no stranger to prolonging feud with some of his rivalries.

From 2018 to 2021, Fury and Deontay Wilder were involved in a classic dispute that saw the fighters share a draw before Fury was successful via stoppage on two occasions

All three fights were filled with drama, brutality, and knockdowns, and despite Fury taking glory, both men emerged with huge credit.

As well as Wilder, Fury has also engaged in another trilogy series against Derek Chisora, his domestic rival who he first beat for British honours back in 2011.

Fury would once again defeat Chisora in 2014, and he would repeat the hatrick against him in 2022 when defending his WBC crown

During the build-up for his rematch with Usyk, Fury has stated several times that he wants to be the first heavyweight to have three trilogies at the highest level, and he has a chance to do that with victory over the brilliant Ukrainian.

For that third fight to occur, Fury simply must improve against Usyk, and that means leveling the series after he was defeated earlier this year

If Fury does show gains the second time around, and become the first man to defeat Usyk, then 2025 could see one of the biggest trilogy fights of all time.

Fury vs. Usyk 3, in Saudi Arabia, Wembley Stadium, or even Las Vegas. All of boxing’s grandest stages queuing up for the decider.

But for that happen, Fury must produce the performance of his career and that includes being better than he was the nights he beat Wilder, Chisora, and even Wladimir Klitschko.

Usyk vs. Fury has already been the major rivalry of 2024. Will we see it continue into next year? Only Tyson Fury can make that happen.
