Wladimir Klitschko shared the ring with many heavy-handed opponents, but who was the most powerful fighter he faced in his illustrious career?
A two-time world champion who once reigned for almost a decade, Klitschko didn’t duck a single challenge as he built an impressive record before bowing out of the sport in 2017 following a loss to Anthony Joshua.
Despite his wonderful credentials, Klitschko endured a few hard nights in the ring and one of those came in 2003 when he defended his world belt against Corrie Sanders.
Klitschko was expected to deal with the veteran South African, but a sensational upset took place, and he was beaten in two rounds. Klitschko is full of praise for his former rival who passed away in 2012.
“He was very fast and he had really powerful hands,” said Klitschko when speaking to The Ring in 2014.
“I’ve been in boxing for 25 years and I never fought anybody in this game that punched like Corrie Sanders.”
