IBF, WBA and WBC world welterweight champion Errol Spence doubts whether WBO titleholder Terence Crawford would be interested in a rematch if he is the dominant fighter in their matchup later this month.
After years of waiting, boxing fans have finally got their wish with the Spence and Crawford meeting for the undisputed welterweight title on July 29 in Las Vegas.
With both men high up on numerous pound-for-pound rankings, it is proving a tough fight to call, and usually with mega fights such as this, it would be no surprise if Spence and Crawford run it back regardless of the result.
However, Spence believes this may not be the case if he is the clear victor come July 29.
“If I beat the will out of him, he probably won’t take it," Spence told The Pivot Podcast when asked whether Crawford would be eager for a rematch if the 33-year-old makes easy work of their first encounter.
