WWE Summerslam has been confirmed for August 21st, a Saturday. Breaking away from the traditional Sunday night slots for PPV, WWE has brought their summer blockbuster forward a day.
No venue has been announced for the event, but it does mean that WWE will be competing with boxing as Manny Pacquiao faces Errol Spence on the same night.
Rumours within the wrestling industry suggested that Summerslam was heading for Las Vegas but with Pacquiao vs. Spence already confirmed for the Nevada city, it appears that WWE will look at an alternative venue with a summer destination location to be revealed on June 5th.
Fans of combat sports are set for an epic evening’s entertainment on August 21st with Pacquiao vs. Spence and Summerslam set to be major events.
