The unified champion defended her minimumweight crowns in front of 5 thousand attendees.

With a full house at the Polideportivo de Cartago in Costa Rica, IBF and WBO minimumweight champion Yokasta Valle defended her crowns for the fourth time after defeating Mexican Anabel Ortiz by unanimous decision.

After going the full 10 rounds, Yokasta won by scores of 100-90, 99-92 and 99-91.

"It was a complicated victory, because Anabel is a very dirty fighter who comes in with her head. I appreciate the support of my people and I hope to fight here again soon, but this time for the undisputed championship", declared the fighter still in the ring.

From the opening bell, Ortiz gave signs that he would sell his defeat. Without falling into feints and dominating the center of the ring, she managed to impose herself in the first third of the fight, but little by little, with adjustments, the champion began to tip the balance in her favor.

Using jabs and straight hands to the face, Yokasta began to break the guard of the challenger, a boxing veteran who had already held a world crown.

Despite the complications presented by La Avispa Ortiz, as it was a fight with a lot of clinch, Valle found a way to win on the scorecards. With the victory, Yokasta improved her record to 30-2, 9 KO's. While the Mexican added her sixth loss.
