Zhilei Zhang has broken his silence on the possibility of a fight with Martin Bakole.
The Congolese put himself firmly in the heavyweight title picture with a surprise win over the highly-rated Jared Anderson last weekend, knocking the American down for a fifth-round victory.
Since that triumph, Bakole has name-dropped Zhang as a future target and now the Chinese heavyweight has had his say on the possible clash.
Speaking to Seconds Out, the 41-year-old praised Bakole's victory but warned that he would be able to stop him in fewer rounds than he achieved against Anderson.
He said: “He did really great, I respect him as a person and I respect him as a fighter and I would be really interested in fighting him. Everything is possible, I am open to everything.
“That is what every opponent of mine says before a fight, everyone wants to make me cry, everyone wants to retire me but come see what happens. We don’t do the talk, we do the action, we are fighters.
“[I would stop him in] less than five [rounds].”
