Zhilei Zhang reveals ambition after stopping Deontay Wilder

Zhilei Zhang reveals ambition after stopping Deontay WilderMark Robinson/Matchroom Boxing
The stalwart heavyweight is looking ahead already.

Zhilei Zhang proclaimed that he is back in the hunt for a world championship after beating Deontay Wilder on Saturday night.

The two veteran heavyweights went at it in Saudi Arabia as part of Queensberry’s successful 5 vs. 5 match-up with Matchroom.

Zhang stopped Wilder with such force that it has led to questions over the Bronze Bomber’s future in the sport.

The Chinese fighter, three years Wilder’s senior, has no such intentions, and after losing his WBO interim belt to Joseph Parker, said he was ready to go again in pursuit of titles.

"I lost to Parker, it was a fair loss. He was the better man that night. I've learned since then. As long as the bell doesn't ring, stay focused," he said.

"I have to pretend Wilder didn't have a right hand and I successfully took it away.

"Road to the championship."
