Zhilei Zhang believes that Oleksandr Usyk could go after Tyson Fury’s injured eye when the pair finally collide on May 18 (shown live on DAZN.com).
The bout was originally set to take place later this month but after Fury suffered a cut in camp, the contest was postponed.
Zhang, who will face Joseph Parker on March 8, could find himself tackling the winner of Fury vs. Usyk if he can get past the New Zealander.
Highly ranked with the WBO, the Chinese star has had to be patient regarding his title shot, and he’s had his say on the undisputed fight that will go down later this year.
“Oleksandr Usyk could target the eye,” said Zhang when speaking to Gambling.com
“But he would also have to expect that Tyson Fury would have a strategy to protect the eye or have a strategy to use Usyk’s aggression towards the eye against him. The cut does present an interesting element.”
