Zurdo Ramirez is disappointed that a fight with Canelo Alvarez looks unlikely to happen.

The light heavyweight is due to fight Dmitry Bivol in November live on DAZN in November, with Bivol the man who beat Canelo back in May.

Bivol is the WBA light heavyweight champion, and while he is keen on a rematch with Canelo in the right circumstances, he is also eyeing up a bout with fellow unbeaten light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev for the chance to become undisputed at 175lbs.

However, Ramirez noted that Canelo appears to pursue fights against international names rather than compatriots.

The undisputed super middleweight champion fights Gennadiy Golovkin live on DAZN (check for regions) on October 6.

"The best has to fight the best. I'm a little sad [by Canelo's statements], because he doesn't want to fight Mexicans, but he has his reasons," Ramirez said to TV Boxeo, reported BoxingScene.com.

"I want to fight with the best, he is the best in his division, and I think we could give a good show to all of the people. Like Erik Morales did with [Marco Antonio] Barrera or how Julio Cesar Chávez did with [Oscar] De La Hoya, but I think he has his own strategy [for the future]."
