Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs: DAZN predicts the 2021 AFC Championship GameGetty
Members of the DAZN team look ahead to what could be an epic duel between quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow.

This season's AFC Championship Game will do well to trump last week's divisional round.

The Bengals managed to beat the AFC number one seed, the Tennesee Titans, with a last gasp field goal despite quarterback Joe Burrow being terrorised by an aggressive Titans defence.

Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills in a game for the ages which was decided by a Travis Kelce touchdown in overtime.

This won't be the first time however that these two teams have faced each other this season. The Bengals and Chiefs went head-to-head in the penultimate game of the regular season, and it was the Bengals who came out on top on that occasion with a 34-31 win at Paul Brown Stadium which also secured the AFC North title.

As the 2021 postseason goes into the final straight, members of the DAZN team give their prediction for the clash at Arrowhead.

Matt Astbury - Mahomes to be the star of the show

Last week's divisional clash with the Bills saw Chiefs QB Partick Mahomes throw for 378 yards and four TDs, and I think he will produce similar numbers against a less menacing defence.

While the Bengals showed great character to beat the Titans, they cannot allow Joe Burrow to be hit frequently like he was against Tennessee. Unlike the Titans who failed to get going on offense, the Chiefs will more often than not score when the ball is in their hands, therefore, the Bengals will have to keep the ball out of Mahomes' hands for as long as possible.

It should be a thrilling duel between two exciting QBs, but I can only see the Chiefs winning comprehensively and reaching a third successive Super Bowl.

Tom Benthall - Bengals to produce a huge upset

I love watching Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs play, but I'm going with the Bengals causing an upset. The Chiefs' offense was devastating against the Bills, but I'm expecting a shootout in this one, with two of the NFL's best young QBs cancelling each other out.

As such, I think the run game could be key, and this is where I give Cincinnati the edge. Joe Mixon rushed for more than 1,200 yards in the regular season, while the Bengals' defense ranked fifth in the league against the run.

Calum Scotland - Chiefs to get revenge

Coming off a narrow win in the regular season, the Bengals will of course be confident of pulling off another upset at Arrowhead, but the loss of Larry Ogunjobi on the defensive line will lessen the effect their pass rush can have on Mahomes. Similarly, there are few better coach/QB combos at learning from past mistakes than Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, so I’d expect the offense to be purring again this weekend.

On the other side of the ball, I think the game could sway on the health of Tyrann Mathieu. If he’s ruled out due to the injury sustained in the Bills game, the Chiefs could struggle to contain the like of Ja’Marr Chase, Tyler Boyd, and Tee Higgins. If he’s healthy, I think he makes at least one big play, and possibly the game winner.

Chiefs 38-35 Bengals

Rudi Schuller - Bengals' luck runs out

Cincinnati mounted a furious comeback and claimed a big victory when these teams last met on January 2nd, with Joe Burrow's monster game (446 passing yards, four touchdowns) eclipsing opposing QB Patrick Mahomes in a big way. However, that was the regular season, and playoff Mahomes is a different beast who has shown the consistent ability to find ways to win when the games get bigger.

Prediction: The Bengals' luck runs out and KC once again moves on to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
