Conor McGregor will finally get back in the cage, after his fight for UFC 303 was confirmed.
UFC president Dana White revealed in a post-UFC 300 press conference that the former two-weight champion would make his long-awaited return.
McGregor last fought in 2021, when he suffered a broken leg against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy rematch.
He has spent years training and recovering from surgery, and also made his acting debut in this year’s Road House film, before making his return official.
His opponent is Michael Chandler, something signposted when the pair were the coaches for the Ultimate Fighter 31 series.
There was a wait for McGregor to get back into the UFC anti-doping programme to ensure he was able to compete, and he was cleared back in March.
UFC 300 looked to be the ideal time for the fight but that was put back to 303, to be held on June 29 later this year.
