On Friday, the PFL hosted its end-of-the-season title fights across the global and MENA seasons. Six champions were crowned in the global season and four under the MENA banner, leaving a lot of excitement across the entire card.
But a few moments stuck out to us as highlights of the card.
1. Dakota Ditcheva is the real deal
Dakota Ditcheva proved herself in the 2023 European season and repeated history by dominating in the 2024 global season. She made history by being the first person to finish Taila Santos. Ditcheva also became the first fighter to win a European and global title, the first to ever win a flyweight world PFL title, and is the youngest champion in PFL history.
2. Saudi Arabia has a new star
We predicted that a fighter from the MENA portion of the card could become a global breakout star with a highlight performance on Friday. That was the case when Abdullah Al-Qahtani knocked out Maraoune Bellagouit in the first round. He would win the MENA featherweight title and could be brought over to the global season in 2025. We'll have to wait and see what PFL does with Al-Qahtani.

3. Denis Goltsov finally got his title
Denis Goltsov has been trying for a PFL title since its second-ever season. He is a former three-time semifinalist and a one-time finalist. Now, he's the PFL heavyweight champion. After his fight, he was seen removing his gloves and we thought he might be retiring. Instead, he called out Francis Ngannou.
4. Impa Kasanganay finally met his match
Impa Kasanganay had been on a tear over the past two seasons not losing a single fight in the PFL season since his debut. But that streak ended when he faced Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov in the PFL Finals on Friday. Yagshimuradov flurried and stopped the former champion in just 58 seconds putting his name (and country) on the map.
