The UFC returns to England on July 27 when it hosts UFC 304 in Manchester. The card is stacked with several UK stars like Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann and features title fights with two of England's UFC champions, interim heavyweight title holder Tom Aspinall and welterweight champion Leon Edwards.
With Britain in the spotlight, it's time to reflect on the best UFC fighters to ever come out of the UK with our top six fighters, in no particular order.
Michael Bisping
Michael Bisping is hands down, widely considered the best British UFC fighter of all time. That could change in the coming years as fighters like Edwards and Aspinall are rising up, but for now "The Count" holds the title. Bisping was the first-ever British champion and one of the best trash talkers. He holds wins over massive legends like Anderson Silva, Luke Rockhold, and Dan Henderson. He's also one of the best on the microphone and is a staple for his cage-side commentary.
Michael 'Venom' Page
Technically much of Michael "Venom" Page's success was outside of the UFC, making him a bit of a controversial addition to the list. His massive career includes highlights in kickboxing and MMA and holds one of the most brutal knockouts in MMA history when he literally cracked a man's skull with a flying knee. He just recently signed with the UFC and has a lot of potential to become a staple in the promotion.
Leon Edwards
Leon Edwards has the biggest chance of surpassing Bisping in terms of star power if he can keep winning. The current welterweight champion was just the second fighter from England to win a title, the first from his town of Birmingham. He won the title knocking out of the greatest welterweights of all time and looks to extend his winning streak by facing Belal Muhammad at UFC 304.
Paul Daley
Paul Daley is known almost as much for his antics as he was for his fighting. Unfortunately, his once-promising UFC career was cut short after a display of unsportsmanlike conduct during his fight with Josh Koscheck saw him axed from the promotion for good.
Brad Pickett
Brad Pickett may not be at the top of anyone's list but when it comes to British MMA, he was someone special. He holds a win over GOAT Demetrious Johnson and is one of the original fighters to come out of the UK.
Dan Hardy
Dan Hardy may have never earned UFC gold, but he was the first British fighter to ever get a title shot and that should count for something. A lot of his success was in Cage Warriors but he gets a ton of credit for his fight with Georges St. Pierre. Many consider him the first pioneer of British MMA. He now works for PFL as a matchmaker and on-air personality, continuing to thrive in the MMA space.
There are quite a few fighters we didn't include like Tom Aspinall and Jimi Manuwa that could easily be considered the top of the sport when it comes to UK fighters but we couldn't include everyone this time around.
