Alex Pereira couldn't have been more dominant in defending his light heavyweight championship by knocking out Jamahal Hill at UFC 300 on Saturday night.
After doing so, a victorious Pereira told Joe Rogan inside the Octagon about the goal he'd like to accomplish next.
"I know there needs to be a lot of promotion behind a fight but I want to have a fight at heavyweight," Pereira said through a translator.
Since November 2022, the Brazilian warrior has captured two titles in two different weight classes: middleweight and light heavyweight, as he's now voicing trying make heavyweight a third.
Dana White was asked about Pereira's lofty ambitions during the UFC 300 post-event press conference.
"When you think about him moving up to heavyweight, you got [Jon] Jones, you got [Tom] Aspinall and the list goes on and on in that heavyweight division," White told reporters. "The heavyweight division is nasty. I don't know if that's the right move for him.
"He looked damn good tonight in the division he's in, so I think he might want to stick around there for a minute. But I don't know. These are all things that we'll talk about for the next 15 Tuesdays. We'll get it figured out."
