The fight that everyone wants to see will finally go down in Eden Stadium, Prague – our first of two football stadium shows this year.
In a highly anticipated lightweight collision, Liverpool’s Shem Rock (10-1-1) will clash with Czech warrior, Jaroslav Pokorný (16-11), at OKTAGON 58 (live on DAZN), the biggest show in promotional history. A capacity crowd of 28,000 will fill the home of Slavia Prague football club on Saturday, June 8, for a spectacular event fans of the sport everywhere will be watching.
After weeks of heated trash talk, Rock and Pokorný were slated to compete in Manchester last November but a physical altercation at the weigh in scuppered the bout. Their bitter, personal rivalry has continued ever since with tensions rising even further.
In his post-fight interview following a quick submission victory in Birmingham last month, Rock told the former police officer that he was willing to travel to the Czech Republic in order to settle their score. However, he warned this was his last chance to accept the fight. Pokorný has answered the call and now both men will finally get their hands on each other inside Eden Stadium.
It's a script that only seems possible in the movies. A man who was on the run for ten years from the authorities for a crime he didn't commit going against a police officer. Neither man can even contemplate losing; stories don't come more captivating than this!
The monumental card is headlined by ‘The Rematch of the Century’ where Karlos Vémola (36-8) puts his light heavyweight title on the line against Slovak legend, Attila Végh (33-9-2). A second title fight features as middleweight champion, Patrik Kincl (28-10, 1NC), defends his belt against top prospect, Matěj Peňáz (9-1). Two quarter finals in the €1 million Tipsport Gamechanger lightweight tournament also take place when Akonne Wanliss (8-2, 1NC) meets Mateusz Legierski (11-1) and Mago Machaev (14-1, 1NC) squares off with Acoidan Duque (20-4, 1NC).
