Claressa Shields isn't wasting anytime getting back into MMA cage.
DAZN News has confirmed an Ariel Helwani report that the two-time Olympic gold medalist and former two-time undisputed champion is set to return for PFL on Aug. 27 at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. No opponent has been announced.
Less than two weeks ago, Shields made her MMA debut and rallied to defeat Britney Elkin via third-round TKO. Elkin dominated the opening two rounds by taking Shields to the ground. Finally in the third round, Shields stopped the takedown and knocked Elkin down to the canvas. From there, it was all Shields as she pounded Elkin out to garner her first MMA victory.
DAZN News has learned that after her Aug. 27 fight, Shields plans on returning to the boxing ring by the end of the year. The 26-year-old last stepped through the ropes in March, beating Marie-Eve Dicaire via unanimous decision to become the only female fighter to win all four belts in two different weight classes.
