Conor McGregor was called a ‘snake’ by Rafael dos Anjos after the pair were reportedly involved in a behind-the-scenes spat.
The duo were at the weigh-in event for UFC 264 where McGregor meets Dustin Poirier for the third time this Saturday night.
Dos Anjos was present in case either of the pair were unable to make the weight or suffered an injury, but it seems the 36-year-old Brazilian will not be needed.
McGregor and Dos Anjos exchanged words backstage, according to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi.
Anjos tweeted: 'Conor, you're such a snake, sneaking from behind and playing tough. Soon (sic) or later, we will finish business.
'I'm not like the guys you play around with.’
Dos Anjos and McGregor were due to fight at UFC 196 but Dos Anjos had to withdraw. Nate Diaz stepped in, and defeated McGregor, who won their rematch five months later.
With the possibility the pair would have a chance to finally fight this Saturday, they have been enjoying a digital aggro-exchange for some of the pre-fight week. It appears they will have to wait to settle things physically.
