Daniel Cormier tweet further stirs speculation of trilogy fight vs. Stipe MiocicDAZN
Going off of DC's tweet and Miocic's interview, it looks like a third showdown is on the horizon.

It's no secret that Daniel Cormier is yearning for his chance at redemption against Stipe Miocic.

Well, we might be one step closer to getting the highly anticipated trilogy fight between the reigning heavyweight champion, Miocic, and the former champ, Cormier.

Cormier took to his Twitter account Tuesday and addressed his rival.

The post immediately lit up Twitter, with fans commenting on their anticipation of the potential DC-Miocic 3.

The tweet follows TMZ Sports' interview with Miocic on Tuesday. The heavyweight champ told TMZ that his eye is healing "really well" and that he's targeting a summer return to the octagon against Cormier.

"Yeah, that's what the UFC wants," Miocic said about a third fight against Cormier. "I'm not the matchmaker. Like I've always said, if I was the matchmaker, I wouldn't be fighting."

Then, Miocic made sure to let Cormier know what to expect if and when their third clash does happen:

"Sucks for him," Miocic said, "he's going to lose again."

Both haven't fought since UFC 241 last August when Miocic blasted Cormier with a fourth-round TKO (punches) to reclaim the heavyweight championship. Prior to that, Cormier scored a first-round KO of Miocic at UFC 226 in July 2018 to become the UFC's second-ever Double Champ, as he added the heavyweight hardware to his then-light heavyweight title.

Dana White spoke about the possibility of Miocic-Cormier III during the UFC 248 postfight press conference over the weekend, expressing urgency to get the fight made soon, while also acknowledging that it depends on when Miocic is fully healthy.

"We've got to get Cormier going here soon or he's gonna put on so much weight he won't be able to fight," White said with a smile.

Cormier was part of the broadcast booth, providing analysis for UFC 248 on Saturday night.

White added: "We have to find out realistically how long Stipe is gonna be out."
