Dricus Du Plessis looks to defend his middleweight world championship against two-time former titleholder Israel Adesanya this weekend in the headliner of UFC 305.
But as much as the Du Plessis' camp acknowledges Adesanya's greatness in the Octagon, they believe "The Last Stylebender" will not have any answers for the reigning champ's game in Perth, Australia.
"With Izzy, you guarantee there's going to be a lot of kicks, a lot of punches, a lot of speed, very evasive, not easy to catch," Du Plessis' coach Morne Visser started saying on the recent "UFC 305 Countdown."
"One of the best fighters in the world, one of the best fighters to ever fight in the UFC ... until Dricus arrived.
"We haven't shown them anything yet and that's what they can't figure out," he continued. "We've got a different game plan for every fight."
Visser added: "I see Dricus beating Izzy wherever we decide to — in standup, in the kicking, in the clinch, in the wrestling or on the floor. He's got no chance."
Du Plessis and Adesanya have been exchanging verbal jabs for quite some time now — prior to even the former becoming the world champion.
For Du Plessis, defeating Adesanya would mark a proving point that has been a long time in the making.
"I think Israel Adesanya is an incredible fighter. I think he's probably one of the best to ever do it," Du Plessis said. "I've studied him even before the UFC to see what I need to do to be the best and what I need to do to beat the best.
"This fight for me is about me proving that I am the world champion. I will always be known for what I've done and that's legacy. My goal is 100 percent being seen as the greatest fighter to ever walk this earth."
