Dricus Du Plessis vs. Israel Adesanya: Michael 'Venom' Page breaks down UFC 305 fight

Dricus Du Plessis vs. Israel Adesanya: Michael 'Venom' Page breaks down UFC 305 fightDAZN
MVP analyzes this weekend's main event.

In losing to Sean Strickland via unanimous decision last September, Israel Adesanya has had the longest layoff of his UFC career.

But Michael "Venom" Page likes that nearly one year out of the Octagon for Adesanya who will look to become a three-time middleweight world champion when he challenges Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305 this weekend.

"I do think the king is about to return to his throne," Page started predicting on his YouTube channel.

"He's back after giving himself some time to get that motivation again and I really like [Adesanya] focused back in and locked back in. I do think we're going to see the old school Izzy."

That means the highest level of precise striking and an elusive style on defense which makes "The Last Stylebender" hard to hit. Though, Du Plessis will certainly try.

"Du Plessis is going to want to grab him, take him down to the floor," Page continued analyzing.

"I think he's going to struggle initially to try and find timing but when he starts getting plugged, it's going to be a bit of a desperate takedown which he may get. But I see Izzy standing straight back up on him and then just getting to work on his hands."

Page added: "I think [Du Plessis] gets demoralized when he realizes he's not able to stay on him and because Izzy likes to move and change angles a lot, it's very hard for any wrestler to get the timing. When people get desperate, it's a little bit easier because you almost accept being hit a few times just to hold something, and I think that's going to happen a couple of times."

But not enough to stop Adesanya from landing big shots and winning the title, according to MVP.

"My boy is going to find a way to land," Page insisted. "I could even see a head kick coming, land a head kick or land a big punch that's going to rock him and take him out of the fight.

"It's going to be exciting to see my boy back on top again and then the world is his after that."
