Justin Gaethje suddenly ended his rematch with Dustin Poirier with a head kick knockout in the second round of their fight last month.
Nearly three weeks later and Poirier is already calling Gaethje out for a rubber match.
"The Diamond" took to his Twitter account Wednesday night and made it clear via a series of tweets:
Sure enough, as aforementioned, Poirier and Gaethje had their first fight back in April 2018. It was a four-round war, which ended in a TKO (punches) victory by Poirier in Gaethje's home state of Arizona.
Gaethje evened the score 1-1 with that head kick KO in the headliner of UFC 291 in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 29, thus prompting Poirier to want to run it back.
Gaethje is currently No. 2 and Poirier is third in the UFC lightweight rankings.
