The MMA fight between tech billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg has taken another step towards becoming a reality.
Details for the contest have been rumoured over the past few months with a venue in Italy being touted as a possibility, and now these suggestions have been confirmed by Musk following a number of posts on X.
"The fight will be managed by my and Zuck's foundations (not UFC). Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all," Musk wrote on X.
"I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location.
"Everything done will pay respect to the past and present of Italy.
"And all proceeds go to veterans."
Ever since the fight was mentioned, a number of prominent figures within the MMA world such as UFC president Dana White have expressed their interest in being involved, but judging by Musk's recent posts, it will be an event overseen by the X owner and Zuckerberg, and not under the guidance of a prominent MMA organisation.
