Former world champion boxer says he loves that he 'smacked' Conor McGregor in sparring session

Former world champion boxer says he loves that he 'smacked' Conor McGregor in sparring sessionDAZN
The duo sparred years ago.

Paulie Malignaggi said that Conor McGregor has, “achieved the most with the least amount of talent,” as their rivalry rumbles on.

McGregor has shown clips of the duo sparring in a past training session, framing the experience as one where he bested the American.

However Malignaggi, speaking to Fastestpayoutonlinecasino.com, suggested that the edit McGregor has made public is far from representative of what went down.

He explained: “He's not purposely showing you the tape of that spar. The uncomfortable truth for McGregor fans is that he got smacked around by me and it left him very bitter. He was training for a big fight and I showed up out of shape and he got smacked around and it left him very bitter.

“Me and Conor know what happened over those 12 rounds and that's why he's still posting about it seven years later. I love that I smacked him up, I love that he's still bitter about it, I love the fact that it still bothers him, I woke up laughing at it this morning. This guy never got over it.

“You would think that for a guy who gets his *** shipped every year it would become normal for him - everyone kicks your ass, why are you hung up on me? If someone did to me what I did to him - in front of all of his friends and family - I would want to get them back. But he can't. I wouldn't fight him now, I'm 43 years old, so I find it very funny he's still thinking about me seven years later, it's clearly a bitter pill for him to swallow.

“McGregor had a flash in the pan career and anytime he's been in a hard fight he's ended up quitting. He's probably the person that has achieved the most with the least amount of talent, that's commendable.”
