Khabib's coach makes big prediction for possible Conor McGregor vs. Jake Paul fight

Khabib's coach makes big prediction for possible Conor McGregor vs. Jake Paul fightDAZN
Javier Mendez has had his say on how Conor McGregor would cope against Jake Paul.

Jake Paul would come out on top against Conor McGregor if the pair were ever to meet in a boxing ring. That’s the verdict of Javier Mendez, the trainer of Khabib Nurmagomedov, who’s fully aware of the threat posed by the entertaining Irishman.

In 2018, Mendez prepared Khabib for his high-profile bout with McGregor, a fight the Russian won via submission.

The contest was McGregor’s first UFC occasion since losing to Floyd Mayweather under boxing rules, and with McGregor consistently linked to a return to the sweet science, his name is never far away from the popular YouTuber. Mendez believes Paul holds the advantage if he were ever to meet McGregor.

“I would favour Jake Paul at 175 over Conor in a boxing ring because he’s too big,” said Mendez when speaking to Betway.

“You can’t count Conor out. Conor’s a good boxer, so you can’t discount his boxing ability, but the size is a little much. Jake Paul hits extremely hard as you can tell by what he’s done.

“If you haven’t woken up to Jake Paul’s ability, they better because he’s only improving. Jake Paul also isn’t necessarily a novice anymore. He’s experienced in dealing with high pressure fights, and he’s proven he's able to handle that pressure. So, it’s a big man versus a little man and the big man just so happens to have more firepower.”
