Twitter lit up with reactions to Conor McGregor's lower leg fracture and a subsequent first-round TKO loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on Saturday night.
Khabib Nurmagomedov offered up a stinging reaction of his own, as he just couldn't resist jabbing his 'Notorious' rival while saluting Poirier at the same time.
Nurmagomedov, who infamously made McGregor tap out to a fourth-round submission (neck crank) in their October 2018 clash, also re-tweeted a thought from friend Daniel Cormier who noted the irony of UFC 264's anticlimactic ending.
During the buildup to the Poirier-McGregor trilogy, the Irish fighter told Ariel Helwani that "I'm not even concerned" with Nurmagomedov.
"I don't really give a f— about that guy, to be honest with you," McGregor told Helwani regarding his rival. "He ran. He's gone. He had a little run and dipped out, showed his true character. It's not like I wasn't surprised. He scurried away like the little rat he is. I'm not even concerned."
Khabib's tweet Saturday night was his retort.
