Andre Berto was Floyd Mayweather’s last out-and-out boxing opponent, and he has given his verdict on the rumoured fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk.
The pair this week came to figurative blows over the emergence of Threads, Meta’s version of a Twitter-like social media platform.
Musk is the current owner of Twitter, having bought the social media site for $44bn before bringing in a set of controversial changes that has seen boycotts from some advertisers and former users.
But before the latest spat, it emerged that the pair were publicly keen on facing off in the cage.
Zuckerberg is known for his commitment to Brazilian jiu-jitsu, while Musk is less well known for his physical exploits.
While Berto would not be drawn on the outcome, he mentioned that he thinks that Zuck vs. Musk could break records on PPV.
He told Sporting Post: “I was just talking to Dana White the other day about this [and] he told me that Zuckerberg versus Musk would break all records.
“Those guys are titans in their industry, worldwide. McGregor-Mayweather was big, but everybody knows Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, that's just internationally, from top to bottom, and something like that will shatter every pay per view.
“And in this new social media age that promotion would be just insane. That's breaking everything.’’
