A new video of the fight between then-bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling and Sean O'Malley has surfaced. In the new clip, you can see and hear O'Malley's coach, Tim Welch, during the final seconds before O'Malley knocks out Sterling.
It appears as though Welch called out to Sterling, pretending to be Sterling's corner in an attempt to throw him off. "Aljo, you gotta go!" Welch yells before Sterling advances with a left and gets knocked down by the counter.
That moment was the ending sequence to the fight and saw Sterling defeated for the first time since 2017. With the loss, O'Malley became champion. He's since gone on to defend the title versus Marlon "Chito" Vera. Sterling moved up in weight and defeated Calvin Kattar at UFC 300 last month.
Neither Sterling nor O'Malley have commented on the revelation yet.
