The UFC will be staging its final PPV event of 2024 on December 7 in Las Vegas, and it was set to be headlined by an exciting title fight.
After beating Leon Edwards in July, newly crowned welterweight champion Belal Muhammad was scheduled to make the first defence of his title against the dangerous Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310.
However, this contest has since been scrapped after Muhammad was forced to pull out due to a bone infection in his foot.
Rakhmonov is keen to stay on the T-Mobile Arena card and when speaking on the Ariel Helwani show, he named former UFC champion Kamaru Usman as a potential dance partner.
"I believe there is a worthy opponent available. I’m ready to save the card too if it’s for the interim title," Rakhmonov said.
"I believe [Kamaru] Usman is the worthy opponent who’s also probably ready to jump in and face him.”
If Usman does indeed decide to face Rakhmonov, it will be his first fight in 14 months after losing to Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294.
