It's time for Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier to settle their heated rivalry once and for all to perhaps decide the greatest heavyweight champion in UFC history.
Miocic will put his heavyweight title on the line against Cormier in this highly anticipated rubber match to headline UFC 252 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday, Aug. 15.
Cormier drew first blood by delivering a first-round knockout (punches) of Miocic to snatch the heavyweight championship back in July 2018, but Miocic made sure that their rematch last August ended drastically different. That's when Miocic pummeled Cormier with a fourth-round TKO (punches) to take back the title, ending the bout with an exclamation point and celebratory dance to boot.
The 41-year-old Cormier, who is the first UFC fighter to win and defend both the light heavyweight and heavyweight titles, has long maintained that he'll retire following this trilogy bout — regardless of win, lose or draw. Of course, he'd like nothing more than to end his career by avenging the brutal loss that he suffered last summer.
Miocic, 37, has insisted that the third fight will end like the second — with his hand raised in victory.
So, who's the greatest heavyweight champion in UFC history? It's time for both Miocic and Cormier to let their hands and feet stake their claim.
