The card is set to take place in the first half of 2024.

Former UFC star Chael Sonnen believes that there maybe a chance of Georges St-Pierre featuring on the card for UFC 300.

A number of the MMA's biggest names have been linked with the event which is rumoured to take place next April.

One of those has been Conor McGregor who is preparing for his first fight in the UFC since suffering an injury against Dustin Poirier in 2021 with Michael Chandler set to be the opponent.

There also murmurings that a number of UFC legends could return including former two-division world champion Georges St-Pierre who could face Nick Diaz in a long awaited rematch.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Sonnen claimed that there is some substance to these rumours, but he believes that a UFC 300 card should contain meaningful matchups.

“You got to do 300 a certain way,” Sonnen began.

"Did you do that by bringing guys in on a one-off? I mean the St-Pierre versus Diaz, does that draw? Sure.

"Why didn’t it happen at 199 or 201? Or 299 or 301? Why wouldn’t it happen there, if that is what got us to 300, why would we not continue to follow the principles and policies that got us here?

"I mean, I’m just asking because I’m hearing from some pretty good people, from some pretty meaningful people."
